Our toddler preschool program is for children 18 months - 3 years. We have small classes of nine children. The daily routine is less structured than our 3-5 year old programs. In the toddler program our main focus is building social skills. We also incorporate sign language (increases verbal skills), percussion instruments, finger plays, nursery rhymes, movement to all styles of music, coordination, following simple directions, art (messy and fun!) and lots of playtime. Diapers are allowed.

Our Jr. K program is used by private schools throughout the nation. This is NOT a preschool program, it is a kindergarten program where the focus is on academics and musical growth. Your child should have already completed basic skills such as name writing, letter recognition, most letter sounds, as well as being able to separate without tears from their parent(s) and socialize easily with other children. Ideally your child would also have a music foundation of note names, basic rhythms, instrument recognition, etc. (our 4 year old preschool classes cover this). The goal of our Jr. K class is to get your child reading, advance their math skills, increase their musical knowledge (helps advance academic learning) and give them an overall foundation upon which to build in all areas.
You can use this class in one of two ways, depending on your child's age.
Option #1 Private School: If your child will be 5 by Sept 1 you are eligible to go public kindergarten, however, you may also choose to give your child kindergarten learning experiences in a small class setting in our Jr. K program (max 11 students). You will need to help your child each week with their homework packets AND do nightly reading to ensure your child gets the most from their experience. This is exactly the same requirement you would have in public kindergarten.
Option #2 Accelerated 5 Year Old Program: If your child will be 5 by Jan 1, you are not eligible for public kindergarten, but you are eligible for our Jr K program. You get all the benefits of the above private school option, but you are not required to help your child nightly with their reading, as your child will have an additional year to build up that skill. However, if you do your child will be leaps and bounds above all the other children in their kindergarten class.
Special Note From School Owner: My goal is to continue building the private school portion of Bravo Arts Academy far past the kindergarten grade. I plan to add one additional grade each year as I believe there are more parents like me who would love to have their children attend a private elementary school, but financially can't make it work into the family budget. I also believe that children can learn and excel without being in school all day. This shorter school day is only possible with much smaller classes so they can get the individual attention they need. I have some creative ideas on how to make this work to benefit all of our children. I look forward to announcing additional grades in the coming years. My estimated opening schedule is fall of: 2011 1st grade, 2012 2nd grade, 2013 3rd grade, 2014 4th grade.
